MALL📱

Hello everybody :)

Today we look at the most relevant tool for language learning and self-education in general - mobile applications.

Mobile learning, also known as MALL, is an educational system. Mobile learning supports, with the help of mobile devices, a continuous access to the learning process. This can be on appliances like your phone, laptop or tablet.

The main principles of MALL:

1. You can learn wherever and whenever you want!

2.Access to teachers, librarians, and other learners.
3.Ability to interact with other learners, including playing games, conversation, and project-based learning, capabilities to take pictures and input text.

Examples: Educational Apps, eBooks and eLibraries, Course Management Systems: Moodle for mobile, Audio, Video , Picture, The power of QR Codes, Social media, Informal learning activities,
With the advent of mobile learning, educational systems are changing.

Let's take a look at mobile learning in education !!!

QR-code

QR codes are just like barcodes which hold a good deal of information and look like this.

Here, art lovers can make QR codes colourful and even add logos in the centre. So, it does not have to be a simple white square with a bunch of black modules in it.

QR-code in language teaching / learning:
-Нelps in a quick audience survey
-Coding tasks for group or individual work
-Links to multimedia sources containing additional information on a specific topic

Why are QR codes useful in the classroom???
Teachers have realized that there is a lot of potential for QR codes in the classroom:

1) Now, additional detailed questions in your classroom will be managed easily and effectively if you prepare extra QR codes for your curious students. Create a Google Doc and a QR code to it, ask students to check the document later. After the lesson you will be able to provide the answers to all the questions you students had in that document.

2) QR codes can be designed to meet many diverse learning styles of your classroom. Your mixed ability classrooms can be taught more effectively with QR codes because now you can present information simultaneously in different ways.

3) QR codes take you away from teacher-centred classroom where you are a source of information, who has to download this information into the students`minds.

4) Finally, QR codes have possible use in every grade and with every topic and materials. You can create audio QR codes of their students speaking, post real-time quiz results etc.

For a language teacher, the possibilities with this free and easy tool are endless.

Quizlet

The mission of Quizlet is simple: To help students and their teachers practise and master whatever they're learning. Quizlet provides engaging and customisable activities thanks to contributions from people everywhere.

I tried to create my own  flashcards on the topic "FRUITS".

And you can pass the TEST :)
